News Release: 9/20/2017: Emergency Operations ALERT

SITUATION
A flood warning remains in effect for areas along the Withlacoochee River. The Trilby river gauge is in major flood stage with a height of 17.65 feet. The Croom river gauge is in moderate flood stage with a height of 11.15 feet. Both areas are expected to rise another few inches, and remain there for the next several days. Voluntary evacuation is recommended for residents along the Withlacoochee River until further notice.
A host shelter is open for evacuating residents at the Enrichment Center in Brooksville, located at 800 John Gary Grubbs Blvd. Brooksville, FL 34601.
Hurricane Irma storm damage continues to be reported to the EOC by county residents. Residents that have not yet reported their storm damage, or have unmet needs, should call the EOC at 352-754-4083.
 
Hernando County Emergency Management continues to actively monitor the situation. The EOC remains open to address issues as they arise, but will return to Level 3 monitoring at the close of business today, Wednesday, September 20th.
 
Debris removal contractors are collecting storm debris from the public right of way throughout the county. Residents should place their storm debris at the curb for removal. Remember to separate tree debris from other items. For questions regarding debris removal, contact Hernando County Solid Waste at 352-754-4112.
