HCFR accepting applicants for volunteer Fire Corps
(Brooksville, FL) Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR) is now accepting applications from those who are interested in becoming volunteer Fire Corps members. Fire Corps’ role is to support HCFR and other first responders at high-attendance public events, during large scale fires and for major long-term emergencies with tasks such as hydration and rehabilitation. The Fire Corps also conducts public education for both children and adults. Annually, up to 5,000 school-aged children learn about fire safety and how to escape from emergency situations using the Fire Safety House. Public education for adults includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and blood pressure screenings.
