Mid Florida Community Services, Inc. closing House to Home Thrift Store on July 31.

Mid Florida Community Services will close its House to Home Thrift Store effective July 31, 2024, located at 19450 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34601.
The store sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials and more at reduced retail prices. Immediately, the store will no longer be accepting donations.

"It was a difficult decision. However, from a mission, financial, strategic, and competitive landscape perspective, it is no longer in the best interest of the organization to operate the thrift store. There are many other thriving thrift stores operating throughout Hernando County, and it's better suited for us to support them as a community partner. Shifting our focus will help us grow and expand the House to Home program, which addresses a critical need (affordable housing) throughout our service region, as outlined in our comprehensive community assessment and strategic plan.", said CEO, Mat Kline.

"We sincerely thank our House to Home Store employees, donors, volunteers, and shoppers for their commitment to serving and support of the House to Home and Mid Florida Community Services mission" said Kline. "We are excited to continue working to serve Hernando County by building a stronger community through increased affordable housing opportunities."

The thrift store will begin liquidating all its inventory. For regular updates, follow the MFCS House to Home Facebook page or call the store at
