“Heroes Among Us” Award by U.S. Congressman Gus Bilirakis
Brooksville, FL – Brooksville Main Street is proud to announce that four of its outstanding volunteers—Andrea Read, Casey Thieryung, Cindy Gandy Mahon, and Donna Mackey—have been honored with the “Heroes Among Us” Volunteer Award presented by U.S. Congressman Gus Bilirakis.
This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to service and volunteerism within Florida’s 12th Congressional District. Brooksville Main Street nominated these exceptional volunteers for their unwavering commitment to enhancing the vitality, spirit, and community of downtown Brooksville.
“These individuals embody the very heart of Brooksville,” said Christopher Rhodes, Board President of Brooksville Main Street. “Their passion, energy, and countless volunteer hours have directly contributed to the growth and vibrancy of our historic downtown. We are honored to see their efforts recognized at the congressional level.”
Each recipient has played a key role in organizing and supporting events, beautification projects, and community engagement initiatives that have brought new life to the heart of downtown Brooksville.
Congressman Bilirakis presented the awards at a special ceremony recognizing local heroes whose efforts often go unsung but are deeply felt throughout the community.
