The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce will host the 43rd Annual Student Recognition Banquet at the SHOW PALACE in Hudson on Thursday, April 27th from 5:30pm-9pm.  
 
Over the past 42+ years, the honor student banquet has evolved from recognizing only the top 5% of high school seniors into today's incredible Student Recognition Banquet. We (as a community) have rallied together to form an amazing tight knit group of mentors who look forward to taking an active interest in our future leaders.  Today, the Chamber recognizes 56 students from the following schools: 

  • Central High School 
  • Hernando High School 
  • Nature Coast Technical High School  
  • Springstead High School      
  • Weeki Wachee High School 
  • West Hernando Christian 
  • Hernando Christian 
  • Spring Hill Christian Academy

We will be recognizing these top students for their achievements in the categories of:

  • Academics 
  • Community Service 
  • Entrepreneurial/Business  
  • Leadership  
  • Career & Technical  
  • This year, we are pleased to announce a new category- The Arts 

Scholarships in each of these categories will also be awarded.

Keynote Speaker:
Lynne Mueller- Nissen, 1984 Graduate of Springstead High School and celebrated Author.


The Chamber believes we should be building new"out-of-the-box" thinkers and leaders who have demonstrated and fulfilled dreams not necessarily in only the academia field, but a truly well-rounded student whose goal is to create a better world.
 
Over the past 40+ years, the Chamber has recognized over 1100 students and awarded over $200,000 in scholarships. Last year, our membership awarded $15,000 in scholarships in these same categories.
