Halloween Howl & the HCSO Safety Fun Fest Bring Fun for All Ages to downtown Brooksville!
Brooksville, FL – (September 25, 2024) Brooksville Main Street has partnered with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office's to bring the Safety Fun Fest to Halloween Howl. This year’s event just got even bigger! WE CANNOT WAIT!
Get ready for a frightfully fun time! The highly anticipated downtown trick or treating event promises an evening filled with spooky entertainment, family-friendly activities, and plenty of tricks and treats for all ages.
Taking place on Saturday, October 26th from 4pm-8pm in Downtown Brooksville, Halloween Howl and the Safety Fun Fest will feature a wide range of activities, including:
• Trick-or-Treating: Take a stroll downtown through a trick-or-treat trail of downtown businesses, where kids and adults alike can fill their bags with sweet treats from participating vendors and downtown merchants. Continue down to South ‘Booville Ave where you can visit the scary neighborhood, enjoy a movie on the lawn and trick or treat for even more candy.
• Costume Contests: Come dressed in your Halloween best for a chance to win exciting prizes in various age categories, including Best PET costume, Best Individual Costume, Best Group Costume, and Scariest Costume.
• Dance Contests: DJ Jacob Hunt will be in the Bandshell doing the Monster Mash and a few other contests that even Casper the Friendly Ghost can handle!
• Spooky Carriage Rides from 6:30pm to 9:30pm – * Reservations are required along with a small fee. Please contact John @ Country Depot @ 813.297.6276
• The Safety Fun Fest will showcase all of Hernando County’s first responders from Hernando County Sheriff's Office, Hernando County Fire Rescue, the Brooksville Fire Department and the City of Brooksville Public Works Department. The HSCO Marine and Aviation Units, the Civilian Mounted Unit, K-9 Units, SWAT team and the Drone Unit will also be there!
Get an up-close look at the first responder vehicles, speak with officers and emergency personnel about their jobs, and discover more about community safety. In addition to exploring the vehicles, attendees can participate in safety demos and interactive games.
Families will also have the chance to meet our local heroes, the men and women who serve and protect the community, including firefighters, police officers, and EMTs.
We can’t forget to mention that there will be food trucks, arts & craft vendors, non-profit organizations, face painting and so much more!
Halloween Howl and the Safety Fun Fest is a free event, open to all ages in a family-friendly environment! The event also includes free downtown parking and the opportunity to stroll throughout downtown enjoying restaurants, merchants, and retail stores as you trick or treat!
