Founders' Week Historic Downtown Brooksville

 YFA's Run for New Beginnings - 7:30 am  the Race starts at Howell Avenue and Ft. Dade with a 5K run/walk followed by a one-mile fun run.  Register early at www.run-fornewbeginnings.com
Games in the Park - After the race, unwind in Hernando Park with a game of corn hole and other family-friendly activities, while not missing a minute of the Pet Parade!
Pet Parade and Pet Costume Contest - 11:30 am Registration begins at Hernando Park for the 12:30 event that is sure to be fun for the whole family.  Dress your pet in their favorite outfit, and head downtown!  Register your pet the day of or pre-register Oct. 7th from 9 am - 12 pm at the Rising Sun or contact Operation Kindness for Hernando County Animal Services on Facebook.
Historic Brooksville Cemetery Tour - 10:00 am meet at the historic Brooksville Cemetery at (1275 Olmes Road) next to the gazebo.  Wear comfortable walking shoes and listen as resident historian Jan Knowles takes you through the grave sites of Confederate and Union soldiers, as well as some of Hernando County's most renowned residents in one of its most historic sites.
Market on Main - 9:00 am - 1:00 pm don't miss the Main Street Market.  Local designers and artists will be on hand, selling unique, affordable products and crafts.
Movie on Main - Monster Trucks will be airing at 7:30 pm in front of the Old Courthouse downtown.  Bring a chair, blanket and the kids!
