12th Annual Stuff the Bus

United Way of Hernando County organizes this county-wide school supply drive every summer to fulfill teacher Wish Lists with items for children in need and raise awareness for local classrooms. During this special weekend, teachers and volunteers will be collecting pens, pencils, glue sticks, notebooks, etc., from 11am-5pm at all Hernando County Publix and Walmart stores (Not including the Walmart Neighborhood Market). While the critical need for supplies grows, a large majority of our schools and families struggle to provide students with even the most basic tools to succeed. All items collected over the Stuff the Bus weekend stay local and go right back into Hernando County classrooms. Teachers are able to register to volunteer and fill out a Wish List by visiting www.UnitedWayHernando.org/StuffTheBus. All applications must be submitted by 5:00pm on July 6th. If you are NOT a teacher but would like to volunteer your time for Stuff the Bus, please contact the United Way office to sign up for an available shift by emailing impact@UnitedWayHernando.org or call 352-688-2026.
